Team Project has achieved at Strate College in 2001 with Jef Guillon. Model 1/50 scale.
This project is a marine habitat located near Mediterranean Sea coast Corsicans.
The technical constraints for this type of architecture is that it must elevate in the air 20 meters in case of storms.
The brief is that we must find inside a laboratory for analysis to a team of scientists with a common living area and bedrooms and a room for receiving visitors.
Our concept is based on the Manta Ray creating a dynamic form as movement of the sea, technically, its structure is inspired by the current oil platforms and can move up or down in the event of a storm with motors connected to 3 fixed pylons.
This system also allows you to immerse into the sea, the transparent floor of the common room, which is below the level of the first floor, the common room communicates over 2 floors connected by a helicoidal staircase.
The marine habitat has 2 floors, the first floor has dedicate to research with laboratories and public areas and an interior lagoon open to the sky to practice analysis and research. It is in a clinical spirit, white and pure. There is also a kitchen and a restaurant with terrace overlooking the sea and a boat dock.
On the second floor, there are rooms for scientists and tourists as well as a terrace around the habitat. It is in a warm spirit with the use of teak wood for floors, walls, terrace, and wood louvers to stop the sun’s rays in a boat mind inspiration.
The Marine Habitat using clean energies respecting the environment such as wind turbines and solar panels, desalinated water, etc.
