About
Manuel Derler, Artisigner, Ébéniste/Designer & Enseignant en Arts Appliqués basé dans les Vosges à Les Voivres.
Manuel est diplômé de l’école de design Strate, de Sèvres, et du TCA, Tokyo Communication Arts College, en design industriel ainsi que de l’AFPIA Est-Nord de Liffol-Le-Grand en ébénisterie.
Après une expérience professionnelle de huit années dans l’industrie et la production de masse comme designer produit et designer d’intérieur en Chine, Manuel rentre en France où il entame une reconversion professionnelle en ébénisterie pour un retour vers la matière naturelle, le bois, le travail manuel et les métiers d’arts.
Son travail est chargé de « tradinnovation » : respect de la tradition artisanale et chargé d’innovation dans un esprit d’expérimentation formelle, conceptuelle et technique, fusion entre artisanat et design afin de dépasser les codes classiques de l’ébénisterie et du travail du bois.
En s’inspirant des Vosges qui l’entourent, de la nature et de la culture propres à cette région, Manuel leur rend hommage à travers ses pièces, fabrication locale ‘’Made in Vosges’’ depuis la matière première éco-gérée jusqu’aux partenaires locaux de l’artisanat et de l’industrie.
Manuel Derler is a French Artisigner, Artisan and Designer based at Les Voivres in Vosges France.
He studied at Strate École de Design near Paris and graduated in 2003 after an exchange program in Japan at Tokyo Communication Arts – TCA with a Master degree of industrial design, as well as AFPIA Est-Nord in cabinetmaker at Liffol-Le-Grand in 2017.
He feeds his creativity through his curiosity about the world and people around him, his work is to adapt his design to the specificity of the context, the cultural tradition, the economic aspects and method of production. In his designs, he seeks poetic inspiration that invoke an emotional connection between people and their environments, objects and places that blur the borders between people.
At his early career, Manuel worked on some advanced projects at Peugeot, Citroën and Faurecia in automotive design for a while to enrich his global design experience.
As merchandising designer in 2004, working with brands in the luxury, cosmetics as l’Oréal, Lancôme, Darphin , before moving to China in 2007, where he was product designer at Zoo Design Ltd, designing Electronics Products and Home Appliances for USA and European market.
After having designed the well-known and prestigious place, such as The Lang Club, The Moment Club, as well as Model-Apartment, Model-rooms, Hotel and Resort, during his time at Métis Agency since 2008 at Guangzhou, which he was the co-founder, Manuel decided to challenge himself again in 2013 and creates another interior design studio ColinDerler Design in Guangzhou and in parallel, he leads personal projects.
After this 8-year professional experience in industry and mass production, as a product designer and interior designer in China, like another challenge when he returned to France, he began a professional reconversion during 2 years in cabinet making for a return to natural material, wood, manual labor and the attraction of the arts and crafts.
Manuel Derler 先生是一位法籍工业及室内设计师,现定居于广州。
他毕业于著名的法国巴黎斯特拉特设计学院,并曾在日本东京艺术学院深造,于2003年获得斯特拉特设计学院颁发的工业设计硕士学位。
早年他曾与欧莱雅(l’Oréal), 兰蔻(Lancôme), 迪梵(Darphin)等众多奢侈品牌进行合作,还曾从事过法国标志(Peugeot,),雪铁龙(Citroën),佛吉亚(Faurecia)等大品牌的汽车设计项目,积累了相当丰富的国际设计经验。
2007年来中国之前,就职于法国的Zoo Design 公司,设计专门针对美国和欧洲市场的电子产品和家用电器。
2008年,成为广州明团室内设计工作室合伙人,出品了如众人熟悉的The Moment Club(床吧), Lang Club(郎汇/荔汇),正佳样板公寓,以及一系列的酒店及度假村。从2013年开始,他决定以创办人身份创立了广州塞维戴勒设计工作室,开始领导他的个人项目。
